What we collect, why, who helps us run Character Continuity, and how long we keep it.
1. Who we are
Character Continuity (the platform at app.charactercontinuity.com and this website) is run by RKane Media LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and how long we keep it.
2. What we collect
- Your email and sign-in. Your email address and the details needed to sign you in. Your password passes through our server to our sign-in provider over an encrypted connection; we never store it and never log it.
- Your uploads and results. The photos and videos you upload, the prompts you write or generate, and the images and videos you make.
- Your characters. The character sheets you build, including their photos, looks and persona.
- Usage. What you make and when, the credits you spend, and basic technical details our servers record (such as IP address and browser), used to run the service, keep it secure and stop abuse.
- Payments. Purchases are made through Stripe, the merchant of record. Stripe collects your payment details; we receive a record of what you bought and what you paid, never your full card number.
- If you sign in with Fanvue: your Fanvue account id, email, handle and display name, and the access you grant us to your Fanvue vault, which we keep encrypted.
3. How we use it
- To run Character Continuity for you: sign you in, keep your characters and credits, and make the images and videos you ask for.
- To keep it safe: stop abuse, enforce our Terms (including the real-faces rule) and meet our legal duties.
- To answer you when you write to support, and to send you emails about your account.
- If you tick Email me about new features and updates, to send you news about new features now and then. We send it ourselves. Turn it off anytime in the account menu, or reply to one of those emails to stop them.
- To send the images and videos you choose to your Fanvue vault, and to read your Fanvue plan.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Who helps us run it
These services process your information for us, only to provide Character Continuity:
| Service | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Sign-in and accounts (your email and sign-in details) |
| Cloudflare R2 | Stores your uploads, results and characters (Cloudflare also hosts this website and runs the bot check on sign-up) |
| Railway | Runs the platform's servers |
| WaveSpeed | Runs the image and video models: receives the photos, videos and prompts a job needs |
| Anthropic | Language and vision models that read the photos you upload or make, and write prompts |
| Language and vision models that read the photos you upload or make, and write prompts | |
| xAI | Language and vision models that read the photos you upload or make, and write prompts |
| Stripe | Payments, as the merchant of record |
| Fanvue | Sign-in with Fanvue, payments for accounts made with Fanvue, and uploads to your Fanvue vault |
| Resend | Sends our emails |
5. How long we keep it
- Uploads and results (the files you upload for a job, and the images and videos you make): 30 days, then deleted.
- Characters, with the photos on their sheets: until you delete them, or your account. When you delete a character, or remove or replace a photo on a sheet, that photo is deleted 7 days later (backups of your characters are kept for 7 days).
- Prompts: a prompt is kept only where you save it, such as in a pipeline, until you delete it. The Gen Log in your browser keeps the last 72 hours of runs.
- Your account: until you ask us to delete it.
- Payment records: kept after an account is deleted, as long as tax and accounting law requires.
6. Deleting your data
To delete your account, email support@charactercontinuity.com from your account's email address. We close your account right away and email you a one-time link to download your files. Your files and characters are removed for good within 30 days. We keep only the record of what you paid and, if you asked for feature news, your address marked so we never send it news again.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy you can take elsewhere. Email support@charactercontinuity.com from your account's email address. We answer within 30 days, and we will never treat you differently for asking.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom: we use your information to provide the service you signed up for (to perform our agreement with you), to keep it secure and stop abuse (our legitimate interests), to send feature news only if you ticked the box for it (your consent, which you can withdraw anytime), and to meet our legal duties. Your information is processed in the United States and in the other countries where the services in section 4 operate. You can also object to how we use your information, ask us to limit it, and complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Cookies
We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember your settings and work in progress on your device, such as your theme and your Gen Log. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Age
Character Continuity is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it and close the account.
10. Security
Your information travels encrypted, and access to it is limited to what running the service needs. No service can promise perfect security; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When a change matters, we will tell you on the platform or by email before it takes effect.
